Feng Shui Expert Shares Top Tips for Harmonizing Each Room in Your Home

zenotica's top tips for harmonizing room in the home

As a Feng Shui expert, I’ve been helping people harmonize their living spaces for many years. From the entryway to the bedroom, each room has its own unique energy that should be optimized for maximum balance and harmony.

Not long ago, I was invited to be a guest on Lily Jang’s House 2 Home show to demonstrate practical ways that we can create a harmonious living environment with Feng Shui. In this blog, I’m sharing some key tips for harmonizing each room in your home.

Entryway

The entryway is the first impression of your home, and it sets the tone for the rest of the space. The first step is to take off your shoes at the front door. This will maintain the cleanliness of your space. If you have a long hallway, adding rugs can help maintain the energy within the environment. If you have more walls, you can hang artwork or big mirrors to add depth and interest.

Front Door Facing Back Door

It’s best if the front door doesn’t align with the back door, which creates a funnel for energy that escapes. If you’re living in a house where this is the case, you can work with light. Hanging a chandelier in the foyer area, adding mirrors, artwork, or placing large furniture or tall plants on the sides and corners support in maintaining the energy in your space. Similarly, if the front door opens up and there are stairs right when you walk in, you can use a big chandelier or big artwork to prevent the energy from flowing upwards. One of my favorite, tried-and-true Feng Shui cures is to hang a 40mm crystal ball on a nine inch Red string.

Kitchen

The kitchen is an important space to harmonize because it’s what we use to nourish our bodies. If the sink is across from your stove, it creates tension because they carry the energies of fire and water. They clash. Adding a rug or cushioned mat in between in  an earth tone color creates a barrier and prevents conflict.

Bedroom

zenotica feng shui tip: no shoes under the bed

Your bedroom is the space where you want to relax and rejuvenate. It should be a sanctuary for healing and calming the mind. You can achieve balance and harmony by ensuring that everything is straight and in order, including the light fixtures. If you can’t straighten something out, consider changing it.

Your bed should face the door, because you want to be alert in command of Your Dominion. Having a headboard is crucial for support and peace of mind. The space under your bed is not a good place to store shoes. It’s polluting with other people’s dirt.

Many of us enjoy watching our favorite shows in bed, but having a TV in bedroom can create distractions and sabotage our energy and sleep. If you have a TV in the bedroom, consider Selenite stone crystal to protect your energy, unplug it and cover it with a beautiful shawl or blanket when you’re not using it.

Pets

While we love our pets, they also have their own energy. For a restful sleep, it’s best not to allow pets on the bed. You can still let them sleep in your room at night, but give them their own space to rest.

Home Office

With the increase in remote work, our home offices have become important spaces to harmonize. Adding plants invigorate life, cleanse the space, and provide peace and calm while you work.

Eliminating clutter is key to creating a productive environment. Pay special attention to sharp objects like scissors, which cut energy. I suggest having a trash can with a lid and keeping it under your desk for easy access when you need to throw something out.

You have probably heard me say that your desk should be facing the door to your office to give you a sense of command, but also ensure that you have ample space to move around to avoid interruptions. This way, the energy of your office will be harmonized to support you in whatever you want to accomplish.

Conclusion: A Harmonized Environment
